Ref NoD-2374/77
TitleFrom Henry Warburton, to Thomas Colfox [?] not addressed..
DescriptionTwo letters on one sheet; they appear both to be from Warburton, though only one part is signed. The first part gives apologies for not writing sooner but his dear friend Dr Wollaston [William Hyde Wollaston] has died and he has been given the task of arranging and publishing his papers and writing his life. Discusses the proposals for a law regarding religious dissidents and Catholic emancipation - is in favour but does not think that petitioning the government will help. The second letter is regarding the Colombian bonds and the idea of sending an agent to Bolivar to negotiate the payment of the bonds. Will speaks to Messrs Baring and ask if their correspondent in Jamaica could do this. Will see Mr Baring soon.
