Discusses Colombian bonds at length, mentions a proposal made to Mr Zea regarding a loan, Colfox's investment (10,000) and offers further bonds/debentures if any of Colfox's friends are interested. Describes the situation in Colombia and how this will influence the value of the bonds. The lines of communication between Valparaiso and Buenos Ayres are good, utilising 'animals called I believe Lamas, a sort of camel'. Attempts to explain Colombian/South American by use of an accompanying map [D.2374/28]. Ends the letter by wishing that he had time to describe the splendours of the coming coronation and expressing good wishes for Colfox's health.
