Ref NoD-2374/110
TitleFrom James Mackintosh to Thomas Colfox, Bridport..
DescriptionLetter incomplete. Date not given and date stamp smeared. Mentions his brother who 'takes the same view of it' and cites 'the agreement of last November' [if this is the agreement as mentioned in D.2374/114, this gives a date of 1831 for the letter] in his new proposition. Mackintosh is inclined to prefer 'the last plan' due to the revenue accruing from the salt mines at Zapaquira. Discusses the possible price to be realised if the bonds will be paid regularly for a time. Is looking for the packet 'Eclipse' which will bring further information. He mentions politics which will be 'unquiet and full of intrigues until the Venezuela business is over'
